What is Math Intervention?

• Offered in elementary and middle schools
• Provides daily additional instruction in math
• Designed for students who consistently perform below grade level
• Does not replace grade level math instruction

How are services provided?

Elementary Schools:

• Grade level groups of about 5 students
• Provided by trained math aides
• 30 minutes per day of additional math instruction
• Children will not be pulled from core language arts or mathematics instruction to receive this service

   Middle Schools:

• Grade level groups of about 15 students
• Provided by certified mathematics teachers
• Additional class period of mathematics instruction
• Children will not be pulled from core language arts or mathematics instruction to receive this service

Will my child receive a grade for this class?

Elementary Schools:

• No, weekly updates are sent home

Middle Schools:

• No, progress reports are sent home with report cards
