Community Preschool

Community Consolidated School District 93 offers a unique Community Preschool multi-age program, aligned with District 93's vision, that blends young children who have identified disabilities with young children who do not have disabilities, ages three and four. Young children have numerous opportunities to develop their individuality, creativeness, friendships, and sense of self in a safe, nurturing, environment through meaningful, developmentally appropriate experiences. Through open, reciprocal communication and by focusing on the strengths of the primary stakeholders (children, families, colleagues), our mission for an individualized play-based environment which fosters independent thought, problem solving, a sense of self worth, and successful group interactions is the ultimate goal. |
We, as a community of learners, know it truly takes a village (families, staff, community) to raise and educate our children. Through our mutual respect, trustworthiness, caring, fairness, citizenship, responsibility, and sense of COMMUNITY, we can truly grow and foster our children's growth and development. Community Preschool classrooms consist of 15 children staffed by one certified teacher, with a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Early Childhood andSpecial Education, and two classroom assistants. To enroll, children need to be 3 years of age by September 1. Morning and afternoon 3-day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 4-day (Monday-Thursday) preschool sessions are available. Please refer to the remaining sections of the Community Preschool Website as well as the Download Preschool Resources and Newsletter Page for additional information.
